Texoma Educators Federal Credit Union was founded in 1957 as Grayson County Teachers Federal Credit Union. Starting with just 10 members and $200, the operations were located in one room of the Grayson County courthouse in Sherman, Texas. In 1973, we moved to a new Sherman office at 506 W. Lamar, just a few blocks from the square in downtown Sherman.
In 1989, we opened a branch office in Denison at the administration building of the Denison Independent School District. In 2004, we opened our new Denison office at 530 W. Woodard.
In 1995, we merged with Southeastern Teachers Credit Union in Durant, Oklahoma and opened a branch office there. This expansion required a name change, and we became Texoma Educators Federal Credit Union. Five years later, we opened our new Durant office at 424 N. Washington.
Over the years, we have merged with several other credit unions, including the Pillsbury Federal Credit Union, Austin College Federal Credit Union, Grayson Federal Credit Union and Denison City Employees Credit Union.
In 2014, we amended our charter to begin serving the entire community in Grayson County, Texas, as well as Bryan County, Marshall County and Atoka County in Oklahoma. Wherever you work, live, attend school or worship in these counties, we can welcome you as a member!
